When a level 3+ revealed Martian player is leading a mission, can he use the Probation Skill card ability to control the next unresolved threat's Leader?
Yes. While the ability's name infers that the humans have put another Agent on temporary probation, you can think of this scenario as the Martians performing some form of mind control. When a level 3+ revealed Martian player is leading a mission, can he benefit from the Reinforcements Skill card ability? Not really. Technically, he does draw 2 cards into his hand, but in the base version of the game there is nothing he can do with those cards (he cannot participate in accusations or trials, and he must discard his hand at the end of the round). When a Threat card has multiple symbols on it, does that mean you need the target number of EACH symbol? No. Either symbol shown will count as positive, but any combination of the symbols may be used to collectively reach the target number - you do not need a specific amount of each symbol. We may add other types of Threats in an expansion that do require a specific amount of different symbols, but not at this time. Can resources go above their starting levels? Yes Can resources go above the board limit of 18? Yes - if needed, use pennies or another counting method to keep track Can you accuse or second an accusation against yourself? No - only other players with full agent status may make accusations Do I need to defend myself if I am brought to trial and have cards available? No - defending yourself is optional Can anyone reinstate a Civilian? No - only players with full agent status may reinstate a Civilian Can two or more players pool cards together to reinstate a Civilian? No - the 5 symbols worth of Skill cards must come from the same player When you have the opportunity to choose a player to receive the initiative pog, can you choose yourself? Yes, absolutely When you are forced to show your DNA card to another player, can you choose a Civilian or Martian player? No - you must choose a player with full agent status, if available Does "Unexpected Event" take effect during a trial? No - any Skill card effects with the yellow exclamation point symbol only take effect during a Threat check, not a trial For skill card abilities that refer to the "next unresolved Threat," does that ability carry over to the next round of Threats? No - these abilities only affect subsequent Threats that are already on the table for the current round of Threats; if there are no more Threats in the current round, then those abilities have no effect If a Civilian is reinstated, are their DNA cards still face up? No - all existing DNA cards are turned face down again, and all future DNA cards given to the player will also be face down |
